Welcome back people. As I sit here and think...I ponder upon my life and realise that there really is more to life than just living! I realise that you have to really know what you want out of life and go for that.
Just the other day I was chatting with a friend. I was telling him I wanted to do so many stuff...but I realise now that its not enough wanting to do stuff; you have to have a plan on how you're gonna do the stuff. You don't just wake up and say "today i am going to do this and that". You must have laid a careful plan and then work towards that plan. Then and only then, can you expect your plan to be fruitful.
And so it is with our lives and relationship with God. You don't wake up and just say I will be in God's kingdom. That's crap! You have to follow laid down procedures and standards to ensure you are a part of the kingdom..."for the Father seeks true and dedicated people to worship him wholeheartedly in spirit and in truth" (my paraphrasing of a verse from John 4). And this can only be reflected in the lives we live. Our lives are a living sacrifice to Him to show us true to His word. As such, we should do our utmost to live like He would want us to. No excuses like Adam or Cain or a host of numerous Bible characters tried to do when they were found guilty. It gets us nowhere!
So, when next you are making that plan, look critically at it. Does it glorify your Father in heaven? If it doesn't, then you probably shouldn't do it. To almost borrow a line from a famous Walt Disney classic, "Always let your conscience be your guide" only in this case, its not your conscience per se; but God's word lit up in our hearts that should be our guide.
Till my fingers itch again....
