At Last!!!

Finally, I was able to connect!!! I'd been trying so hard to connect to Blogger but just wasn't able to. I'd refreshed, and reloaded and logged out and in numerous times without success. I even bordered on frantic and hysterical (I know that would draw the laughs but its true!!!). While all this was going on, in my mind Iwas saying silently to myself: "There goes your dream of being an avid blogger; not one post in the month of February!"

For a minute I was really sad too. All the effort gone to waste in telling people about my blog. I imagined, in vivd colours , the looks on people's faces when they visit the blog and find out "he hasn't even updated it in ages!" such a helpless slob. And believe me, the thought chilled me to the marrow.

So I kept at it hopefully, fervently, prayerfully and painstakingly that soon, I'd just finally be able to connect. And just as I was gonna give up hope; on the last day of the month, it came through. Who says leap years aren't good! if it wasn't for the year "leaping"I would have had no posts for the month of February and that would have een the disappointment in itself. And therein is my lesson.

I learnt the value of persistence and perseverance. Like that son of Timaeus who shouted out all the more when Jesus was passing through for our Lord to have mercy on him; like Jacob who strove all night with the angel and didn't let him go; like Jabez who pleaded his case with God till his fortunes were changed...I could go on and on with shining examples! But they would not make any sense to us if we didn't learn from their examples. That's the challenge for us. These people did all they could because they were convinced of the reward at the end of their struggle, persistence and perseverance. And that is what made them stand out (I mean we would not read about them today if they didn't struggle or persevere or persist would we?).

So in like manner, we also have the assurance that if we struggle, persist and persevere for the right things and the right reasons too, we would get what we aspire for. That's the attitude we should adopt in our walk to the kingdom; and it is certain we shall get there if we do. We have the words of the most famous apostle as a further assurance..."...I have fought the good fight; Ihave finished the race. I have kept the faith. Henceforth is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the LORD the Righteous Judge will award to me on that day; and not to me alone, but to all who have loved his appearing."

Evens so, come Lord Jesus.
